My views on "Pay per Click" schemesBased on several years experience I do not believe that it is possible to make any significant sums of money with any of the "pay per click" programs of which I have a detailed knowledge. Depite some of the wild claims made not one of the firms I have questioned could provide any independent evidence of the vast earnings they quote in their adverts. These companies will pay you each time a visitor clicks on one of your displayed banner ads so as to load the advertiser's web page. However my experience shows that under 0.5% of viewers will click on most untargeted adverts which means that the common 5c per click payment rate is equivalent to 25c per 1000 displays of the advert (ad views). A typical fairly busy web set receiving 200 hits per week would earn under 5c per week from the advertiser. With $25.00 minimum payment being common and $50.00 being far from unusual a web site owner could easily be waiting 10 years for payment! I suggest that you boycott all these firms offering untargetted adverts. Indeed as a general rule I would suggest most websites owners should not bother with any "pay-per-click" ad networks, because the level of income generation is not acceptable. Even the brand leaders such as ClickTrade should be viewed with caution because in my experience many of their listed link partners never respond to requests for links while others regularly fail to keep enough money in their account with ClickTrade so your clicks go unpaid. |
